View:2789Masterbatches often used in plastic packaging materials can be divided into two categories according to the composition of the additives used: color masterbatches (the main component is the colorant), functional masterbatches (such as anti-aging additives, antistatic agents, flame retardants, fillers, etc.). This article will take you through the various types of functional masterbatches in detail.

(1) Smooth functional masterbatch.
It can adjust the smoothness and anti-adhesive properties, with good anti-adhesive properties and increased smoothness, without affecting the strength and dimensional stability under high temperatures.
(2) Opening function masterbatch.
Enhance the slipperiness of the film surface, have certain antistatic properties, prevent the bonding between film and film, and increase the openness of tube film.
(3) Anti-aging functional masterbatch.
Extend the life cycle of films by absorbing and intercepting those ultraviolet rays that cause film aging. Light stability, UV absorbers, and heat aging protection agents are the main constituent substances.
(4) Anti-rust functional masterbatch.
Prevents rusting and chalking of plastic parts in contact with metal inserts.
(5) Water-absorbing functional masterbatch (moisture-proof, anti-foaming masterbatch).
Eliminate bubbles, clouds, cracks, spots, and other problems caused by moisture with no adverse effect on the physical and mechanical properties of the products.
(6) Degradation function masterbatch.
They are widely used in PE, PP, and other major raw materials, so their products (such as agricultural film, bags, cups, plates, dishes, etc.) degrade by themselves without polluting the natural environment.
(7) Aroma function masterbatch.
It can be used in toys, daily necessities, stationery products, car interior accessories, beauty, cosmetics packaging, etc.
(8) Transparent masterbatches.
Improve the transparency of products.
(9) Foaming masterbatch.
Eliminate the surface shrinkage marks and depressions (shrinkage) and foam to reduce weight while reducing the cost of raw materials.
(10) Cooling function masterbatch.
It is mainly used for PP, which can lower the temperature by about 30~50℃.
(11) Filling function masterbatch.
The filler used in plastic products and calcium carbonate, talc, wollastonite, graphite, kaolin, mica, and other inorganic mineral materials, can be widely used in PE, PP, PS, ABS, and other plastic products.
(12) Antistatic functional masterbatch.
It is a carrier and antistatic system of high-speed mixing, extrusion molding, and then cut granules to get used to reduce the surface resistance of materials to prevent the adverse effects of static electricity on various industrial sectors and human beings.
(13) Antibacterial functional masterbatch.
After a certain amount of antimicrobial masterbatch and the corresponding resin particles are mixed, plastic parts, products, and antimicrobial fibers with antimicrobial effects (bactericidal and antibacterial effects) on the surface can be made according to the processing and molding methods of plastics and fibers.
(14) Enhancement of functional masterbatches.
Enhance the strength of the target material, and its modified materials can be widely used in construction, machinery, electronics, electrical appliances, automobiles, transportation, daily necessities, agriculture, and other manufacturing industries.
(15) Brightening masterbatch.
Also called bright masterbatch, the purpose is to improve the brightness of the products; its main brightening agent has ethylene bis-ceramide, a general color masterbatch dosage of 20% to 30%, and the products are 0.2% to 0.3%. Too much will affect the printing effect of the products.
(16) Flame retardant functional masterbatches.
They are mainly used for flame retardant modification, consisting of flame retardant + resin + additives.
