1. First of all, we can make it clear that barium sulfate is a filler, titanium dioxide is a pigment, which is the most basic difference between these two.


2. Our precipitated barium sulfate has very good wettability after organical treatment. During the grinding process, the ultra-fine barium sulfate particles can be used as a carrier for the target dispersion of titanium dioxide particles, once opened under the action of strong shear force, quickly adsorb around the surface, which reduces the probability of titanium dioxide particles reassembled after sufficient dispersion (opening). Therefore, our precipitated barium sulfate can be equivalent to the function of zirconium beads, which helps the grinding effect, so that the grinding time can be shortened and the grinding efficiency can be improved.

During the grinding, our precipitated barium sulfate and titanium dioxide are fully mixed, maintain the sufficient amount of titanium dioxide, not too low, you can reduce the amount of 5-10% of it. Of course, limited by some dispersion conditions or process constraints, there are also cases of less than 10%. To some extent, it shows that our precipitated barium sulfate can successfully replace 5-10% of titanium dioxide to save costs!


4. Assuming that the particles of precipitated barium sulfate are 40-50 nm, much smaller than that of TiO2, using surface charge adsorption, nano-precipitated barium particles are dispersed and adsorbed to the surface of titanium dioxide particles with the help of high shear force. In this way, the micro-flocculation caused by the mutual compression between particles caused by the sharp shrinkage of the film volume during the drying and curing process is prevented. Therefore, nano-precipitated barium sulfate can improve the resistance to overdrying, such as luster, fog shadow and so on.
